Here is a Good One! About 2 months ago, I was at my local range doing a little practicing and when I finished, I always look at the used pistols hey have. I spotted what I thought was a nice looking Sig226 at the other end of the counter. Immediately went to check the price and the tag had $295!!! Woe......that can't be a Sig!!! I saw it was an EZ-40 pistol. What the heck is this. I asked to look at it and saw it was made In Serbia by Zastava. I am very familiar with the Zastava Plant as the have been making firearms since the 1860s. I have also owned some modern Zastava rifle used fr hunting and they were great rifles. I also have several pre WWII Zastava 98 Mauser type rifles.
I did a fast check and the pistol appeared to not having been fired much more that test firing. Came with 2 spare mags and a cleaning rod/brush. Unfortunately, no manual. The pistol appeared to e excellent with a trigger pull that felt like a match trigger. To be honest, it is too light for a defensive weapon, but shoulbe great for target shooting. The sales lady (nice looking TOO) did not know anything where it came from, but they always test fire any firearms they buy before putting them out for sale.
OK, since it looks like a Sig, feels like a Sig, same size as a Sig, and less than $300; I could not turn it down. The next week, after cleaning and lubricating, I went to the range. She shot great and the trigger pull was so easy and light after shooting most of the standard pistols today, including Sig, I actually fired some when stopping at the second stage for sighting. I have not checked to see if any Sig parts fit yet, but the internals look very close to the Sig.
EAA was the importer, but the new importer is now K-Var, the AK folks. A very well made pistol and looks good too. I think the Serbian Military is using this pistol too. The photo is not the best, but sow how it looks!
