I finally got to my local Academy Sports this morning to see if they had an SP-2022 in .40 S&W. Well, they had one in stock and I got it! Another customer came in about 10 minutes behind me and wanted one too; they told him "sorry, just sold the last one", but they will receive one in the next 2-3 days.
Anyways, I have a 9mmP SP-2022 and love it, so I had to get a .40 S&W to go with it. Academy won't hold anything for you, so it is catch as catch can.
I did not have much time to look at it since I left work to get it. I will compare the new pistol with my 9mmP tonight. Hope to get to the range and try it out this weekend if possible and hope it shoots as good as the 9mmP!
Plus, I heard some news about Academy and Sig! They are working on a deal that Academy stores can buy online from Sig and have the pistol you purchase shipped directly to the store for pick-up. Academy would require 33% down when pistol was ordered and balance due at pickup. I told them I like that plan and hope they get it worked out! The stores have no input to what firarms they receive currently, just a notification what and when a shipment will arrive. Also, the stores never receive more than two of anything.

Thanks guys, I was excited about getting the .40 S&W! You never know what Academy will have in stock unless you call or go to the store. At least my local store is only 10 minutes from my work, so it is easy for me to go there. I usually go in the mid-morning as there is no crowd, LOL!
Since you never know what is in stock, I had th SP2022 as first on my list. The second on my list is the Sig P250 full size in .40 S&W. I have the P250 SC as a carry pistol and wanted the full size as a range pistol. I will try to get the P250 full size next month!
The SP2022 was a really new pistol as the date on the cardboard box was June 19, 2012! Sig must be shipping them out thedoor as fast as they make them. 4 weeks from manufacture to the store is fast!!! I still don't like the carboard box, but at least it looks nice and heavy duty. I also need to find a low cost factory magazine for a spare too. I am thinking about putting a laser sight on this pistol. I usually don't like stuff that requires batteries, but since I will be shooting this one a good bit, the laser may be good.
When I get to the range, I will ake a report on how she shoots! LOVE those SIGS!
