Just wanted to inform everybody that I spoke with Sig Sauer today and there aren't any plans to cancel production of the SP2022. I posted a brief snippet about this on the main site as well.

I made a tongue-in-cheek comment over at sigtalk about SIG stopping production of the SP. I hope no one thought I was serious.
They are flying off the shelves. There is no way SIG is going to stop production of something that sells that hotly. But I do think that SIG will have to---at some point---make variations of it like a compact/subcompact model. I would also like to see it chambered in .45.

I think they need to do something similar to the range of the XD, in terms of caliber, size variations and accessories that come with your gun. I was pretty impressed to see all the stuff my brother got with his XD.

I'm real surprised that with the way these things are selling that there isn't more aftermarket grips and accessories for the 2022 yet.

It always takes the aftermarket industry to adjust to changes. A big pain in the crack is that the 2022 has been made with the SIG proprietary rail, so now there are 2 different models that won't fit the same size holster. As for grips, I have no clue, as the one that came with mine was just fine for my hand. What other accessories can one really need? Anything that fits on a 1913 rail will work on the pro. There are atermarket sights available, mags in different sizes, pretty much anything you need. All you have to do is shop around a little. +1 on the .45, and maybe even the subcompact.

2022 has the picatinny rail, not the Sig rail.

The early sigpros and the first 2022 had the SIG rail. They switched it 3 or 4 years ago. That is the reason why the original SIG holsters won't fit the new picatinny version.
