I live in the northern part of South Carolina, and Palmetto Armory is located about 1 1/2 hr drive from me in Columbia, SC. If they are having a great sale, it is worth the drive for me sometime. When they have the "free shipping", I order thru the internet. Palmetto is a first rate company with good prices. Many times on firearms, they will have a sale and the price is less than Academy Sports.

For range work, I buy remanufactured (=reloaded) brass cased 9mm, 115 gr, FMJ, round point from Freedom Munitions - 500 rounds in bulk for $107, including shipping - works out to about $10 per 50 rounds. Hard to beat that price, and ammo has been reliable, accurate, and very consistent in speed checks with a chronograph.

ammoseek.com/ has a spectacular system that'll organize it by price by round, grain, types, speed, etc.

I bought 500 rounds of Freedom Munitions 9mm 115 grain'FMJ remanufactured ammo, and after shooting it all happened across Wal-Mart's normal price of $19.97 ($21.17 after tax) for 100 rounds of Federal 115 grain FMJs. Needless to say, buying online is no longer necessary for me.
