What was the deciding factor for you to purchase this weapon? What made it stand out to you over other weapons?

When I went to purchase a pistol I originally was looking for a Ruger P95. My local Academy sports were out of them so I seen this pistol in the case that was priced $50 more that the Ruger. I asked to see it and when the salesman handed it to me, it felt like it was made for my hand. Great balance and weight. I never had even heard of Sig Sauer before. When I got home I did some online searching of the "new to me" brand and read a whole lot of reviews on the 2022. With a little further reading I discovered that Sig Sauer was the most preferred hand gun maker of armed forces world wide. Then I knew that I had made a wise choice before even firing it. Once I pulled the trigger for the first time and a hole appeared in the red circle I was sure that this one was a keeper. Over 500 rounds later it still reassures me that my 2022 will defend me to the end.

Didn't own a pistol at the time and all my buddies kept pressuring me to get one, I love to hunt / shoot clays so all I owned were long guns. I put a shotgun and a .22 on the local swap&sell sight for trade, got a call from a guy that had a Glock 19 and the SP2022 .9mm. I HATE Glock's so I jumped on the Sig, well it turned out that it wasn't a "great" deal, it would not cycle and after every shot you would have to bump the slide to get it to go back into full battery. Called Sig and told them the problem, they sent me a shipping label and off she went, came back better than new and now it runs like a top. However, I don't carry the 9 because it did let me down and that stays in mind. About a month later I went down to Academy and bought the .40 version because I liked the platform so much and didn't want to give up on it. It's a dream, after 500 rounds there have been no issues what so ever and it's now my CCW.

Academy Sports ha a sale on the P2022 and since I own several other Sigs, this may be a good one. I did some reading on the internet and almost all comments were positive! I wanted .40 S&W, but they only had the 9mmP so that is what I purchased. I have never regretted that purchase!

I bought a 22LR AR15 as my first firearm about 2 years ago. It didn't take long before I was hooked on shooting sports and ended up building my own AR15 within the first few months. Then I wanted a pistol, and decided that a Sig 229 was exactly what I wanted (especially since it is made in NH where I live). I, however, have had a terrible year, and part of it was losing my job and was unemployed and couldn't find work. This meant I could not afford an $800 gun. But then I found out about the SP2022, which seemed to be a polymer 229. So when I finally found a temporary job, I got the 2022 and have been extremely happy with it. It shoots and feels just like my friends 229.

I bought this in addition to my other weapons, Sig P226, Glock Gen 3 Gen 17/19 and Gen 4 G19, Berretta PX4sc and I wanted something else. None of my guns are safe queens, I shoot them a lot, mostly my G19 as it's my edc but I wanted something along the Sig lines and since Academy has them for under $400, I went and shot my buddy's...had to have it. For me, its only downside is the weight and size and I'm only talking about cc from my perspective. I'm a big guy, 6' 220lbs with large shoulders but the G19 is about the largest I like to go. I love the 2022, probably my favorite of all my guns for whatever reason. I use it as a car gun and I did order a Darkhorse IWB holster for it. I use a Raven OWB for my G19's but they don't make a holster for the 2022.

After all the raving about the SP on the other board, I had to try it out. They were right; it's my EDC now. I have plenty of .40's(my only caliber) but it's the only one i carry.

My SP was my first SIG back in 2008. The LGS I bought it at was running a sale on their remaining German SP2022's (most of what they sell are 1911's, Rugers, Smiths). When I held it in my hand it felt like it was made for me.
The rest is history.

It happened for me at my local gun shop, too. I knew about the sp, but i didn't (and still don't) know a whole lot about handguns. I knew SIG made a great weapon, and I read great reviews on the SP. But I wanted to go and hold some guns and see what I liked and didn't like. I looked at the sp, the xd, the px4 storm, the g23 and the m&p. I was mostly torn between the sp and the m&p. Absolutely hated the g23 and the px4 storm. My brother had already picked up the xd and i wasn't absolutely flattered with it.
So I kept holding the m&p and the sp. I was really torn between the two, I loved them both. But in the end something about the way the sp felt in my hand, and when I released the slide. Something about it seemed to gel more with me. Not to say I didn't really like the m&p though. I could have just as easily bought it on a different day. However I'm glad I went with the sp. Can't wait to pick it up and shoot a bunch of lead through it.

I did an awfull lot of research on the web before I bought. That's how I ended up on sigtalk, and, unfortunately, sigforum. I wanted hammer fired, just because everybody seemed to tell me to get a glock, and I usually do quite the opposite of what people advise me to do. That, a huge amount of very favorable reviews, and SIG's good name did it for me.

That's how I ended up on sigtalk, and, unfortunately, sigforum. . Fortunately, it did bring you here! I have a good feeling over time as I can afford to update this place and advertise it more, we will get a good following and this will be our first stop for sp2022 stuff.

A friend of mine purchased the 9mm version, sent me a pic on my phone, and I fell in love just looking at it! You could call it love at first site I suppose.

This was my first personal handgun purchase, and I did a lot of research and "window" shopping. I wanted a 9mm, so checked Glocks, but didn't feel quite right and high priced. Looked at Rugers also, and then Taurus. Almost got a Taurus 809, but my son suggested I look at SIG 250 or 290. Academy Sports had the 2022, and I immediately liked the feel, the look, and the quality. I checked reviews, compared the Taurus and the 2022, and decided on the SIG. Absolutely no regrets! To get a handgun of this quality and reliability for $399 is just too good a deal to pass up!

I did a lot of research and convincing my wife to let me finally buy a gun. I have been saying for a couple years that education is key to owning a gun with children in the home. Of course, she doesn't listen to me, it is the people that she doesn't know well that tell her the same thing. She probably just felt I was using it as a line to buy a weapon. Anyway, back to the SP2022. We got a membership to our local range to start firing weapons and build her confidence. Went with a .22, then the next time stepped up to the 9mm. Shot a Springfield XD and a Glock. I liked the Glock more, but wasn't really sold on either. Talking with the guys about Sig and when I was leaving one of them mentioned the SP2022 as a great, budget friendly gun. So I research and read, watch all sorts of reviews. Most people love the gun, very few problems and it looks nice. So, I ordered yesterday and it should be here next week. With FFL transfer fee, I paid a total of $375 for a 9mm with 15rd mag, contrast sites. I am pleased with the total purchase and can't wait for the gun to get here.
