A while back I had purchased my 12yo daughter a CO2 powered BB pistol to help her practice on her sight picture and aiming skills. She loves to shoot my 2022 and does a pretty good job at it so I figured I would get her this so she could shoot anytime in the back yard and not arouse the neighbors and cost me a fortune in ammo. Fast forward to yesterday evening. She came to me to load up a new CO2 cartridge and off she went to plink at some paper targets. She hung the targets like I taught her to and away she went to poking holes in the paper. About 45 minutes later, she came in the house with a worried look on her face and said "I kinda shattered the glass in the old storm door on the back porch", "I didn't mean too" , and all the other stuff that kids say when something goes wrong. I know it was an accident, as we all have had accidents with a BB gun before, right?(She is well supervised while shooting my 2022 by the way, so no worries there) I shrugged it off and commenced to cleaning up the broken glass and then she said the darndest thing to me, " I didn't know that BB's would do that". I just looked at her and said " Now you know". I don't know exactly what had happened for her to shoot the glass, but now what I have always told her has sunk in, "always treat every gun as a loaded gun, even your BB gun." Just thought I would share.
Anyone else have a broken glass story to tell?
