I was able to pick this thing up today from my local shop for $50! I didn't physically bring it home, I added it to my lay away tag over there, so realistically I will have it and my 2022 within a month! Does anybody have any experience with this add on?

I don't have that particular one but I do have a Stingray SP1 by Armalaser. It is less than 1/2 inch thick. I found that shooting with a laser is more difficult than using sights. You concentrate more on trying to keep the laser dot on the bullseye, you will really be able to tell how much your hands move when aiming. Now for HD in dark areas, center of mass shots would be real easy. Plus the perp sees the red dot on his head or chest, that is enough to make them run, and hopefully not squeeze off a shot first. I took mine off when I noticed that I would accidentally engage the on switch when I would store it in the case and run the batteries down. I find that a bright flashlight will not only disorient the perp and blind him but you can identify who you are about to shoot. That is why I keep a light next to my 2022 on the night stand.

As I posted, I also picked up a different version combo light and laser. I need to experiment in the house at night to see if the light or laser works best. I notice with the mounted light, which is quite bright, you cannot see the dots on the sight. Of course, with the laser you cannot see who you are shooting center chest with unless you use an aux light. But you can sure see those TFO sights! I was mainly interested in the laser as a guide when target practicing, to have an observer watch the spot when I fire to see if I am holding steady or not, but like Kenny says it could well have a good tactical use.

I picked up my SP and the laser last night. I was impressed with how easy the laser was to install and how nice it looks once on the gun. It really looks like a part of the gun. I've been tinkering with adjustments but I notice that the laser moves around a lot and needs to be re-adjusted. I may not always use the laser if this becomes an issue. Then I could use an itac or imi defense holster.

When I had my laser installed, I had to tighten it up real snug and it still would not hold dead nuts center. At 25 feet it would get a center of mass hit in a HD situation but not a bullseye target match win. Lasers are a precision instrument and I think recoil plays havoc on them because they just float on the adjustment screws with spring tension. If there was only a way to have another adjustment screw 180° from each other so once its adjusted it could be locked down, then you could maintain bullseye accuracy.

Good point, Kenny. I have a Ruger SR22 with a laser, and noticed I had to keep adjusting it at the range. So even the minor recoil from a .22 can cause changes. I haven't tried the NCStar green laser I got for the SP2022 at the range yet. It is a quick disconnect so doesn't have screws to tighten down. Will be curious to see how it performs.

I picked up one of those Sig Lasers, I haven't mounted it yet, i don't plan on having it mounted full time anyway, I'm considering a light instead one that is green and capable of strobing.

I put it on but I noticed that after I adjusted it I had to readjust it again and again, I don't think I will have it very long, hopefully it won't be long before my green one comes home.

If you are planning on using a laser for night time home defense purposes, I was thinking that this may be a good tip. After target practicing and cleaning of your 2022, get a laser bore sight for your caliber, the kind that fits into the chamber like a standard bullet, (can be found on ebay for around $20) and adjust your rail mounted laser to match up with the boresight laser at a distance you would most likely be defending yourself from an intruder inside your home. Then store your 2022 as you normally would and then the first couple of HD shots would be nearly dead on. You shouldn't need many more shots than that. (especially if you are loaded up with quality HD/SD ammo like the HST) Repeat after each range visit. As for range work I think that laser sights are more of a hassle.

I just picked up my sp2022 the other day and that laser was included with the it. Haven't had a chance to use it yet except for entertaining myself while my 14 week pup chases the dot. Not sure if I am gonna mount it and use it. Not a big fan of them, but it came free with my 2022.
