Well I got my SP2022 today, have not got to shoot yet but ran some hornady critical defense from mag to chamber, and ejected an entire mag. All fine. Tried the same same thing with my hand loads that my glocks and Beretta will feed and eject all day and Sig did not like the hand loads.
The feed ramp is marked pretty good just from doing this.... Anyways, kinda disappointed so far, this is my first Sig pistol.

They would not chamber or did they catch on the ramp? Sig chamber tolerances are tight. SIG SAUER recommends the use of only newly manufactured ammunition meeting SAAMI (www.saami.org) and/ or NATO specifications.

Are your handloads a flat or round nose? Also what caliber are you shooting?

You realize that the use of handloads will void your warranty, don't you?

Very odd. One of the things I about the like about the Sig Pro / SP2022 series is the consistent reliability . I would actually be rather surprised if one of mine did not feed or fire. What is your bullet shape and over all length? With the barrel removed will they drop into the chamber to the correct depth?

You realize that the use of handloads will void your warranty, don't you? I do realize that every gun manual states that, yes!

My hornady oal is 1.125 and my loads are the same with a couple that came in at 1.126. Also have had this happen a few times now, rack a round into chamber, decock, try to drop magazine to top off and the round at top is moved forward making the magazine not want to drop. This is getting annoying.

Sooners2win, Yours is a .40? I have noticed in my readings that the .40 caliber 2022's have given some users grief. You may want to give Sig a call. Just don't mention using your handloads. My 9mm on the other hand has eaten everything I have fed it, so I am surprised that you are having issues. Not to many people have had trouble with the SP2022 that I have read. Maybe you just were one of the unlucky ones and got one that was built by someone with a hangover. I wish we had a direct fix for your issues but If it continues to fail after taking it to the range, a phone call to Sig would be next on my to do list. They will make it right.

Worst case scenario have SIG polish the feed ramp.

Sooner, I think your just being jumpy and here's why. I to own a 40SW 2022. When I first got it, I filled the mag up with my reloads, flat-nose. And they would bind up either on the feed ramp or just below it. I was a little concerned as well. But then, I went to shoot it, and it worked like a total champ! In fact, you can see it's very first rounds fired here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkYToZhLhaMThe tolerances are just so blasted tight strait from the factory and me shooting a good number of rounds through it limbered it up real good and it's just a sweet shooter now. Try it, I really think you're going to be fine!

Oh, and concerning the pic you posted, mine does the same a well, and it has never caused an issue.

You can't reliably hand eject pistol cartridges because the gun is not operating with the same force that it will under actual firing.
You didn't get a "shit gun".
