Is there a way to date Siglites/Meprolight night sights? I know there are some markings on the side of the sights but a date doesn't jump out for me. Is it in code within the information on the side of the sights? I purchased mine through Ebay and they just came in a plastic bag with no tags. They still glow but would just like to know how much life they have left.

I bought Siglite night sights for my SP from Sig. I think I read somewhere that these sights will glow for around 8 years!

Mine didn't come with them either. I found some on ebay for around $70 and had a smith install. You can find some at Top Gun Supply I believe or just search for Meprolight Night Sights, they are the OE manufacturer of factory Siglites night sights. If your 2022 is a 9mm then you need #8 front and rear. If it is a .40 then it is a #6 front and #8 rear. There are a ton of different night sights out there from tritium fiber optics to standard tritium sights and multiple manufacturers but if you want factory style night sights then Siglite/meprolight is the answer.

Oh BTW you can send your slide to Sig and they will install some for you but at a hefty price. See their website for the services price list. Also if you purchase from an online vendor be sure to fine a smith with the correct sight pusher or risk nicks on your slide finish or damage to the tritium vials. You can also purchase your own sight pusher but after spending the cash for a sight pusher and sights you might as well send in your slide to Sig.

Yeah, but the whole point of purchasing a sight pusher is for future use. Mine has already paid for itself 3 times over.
MY SP came with night sights, but I really see no use in them. If you actually have to use your gun at night against a bad guy, you're not going to take the time to line up the 3 glowing dots since your eyes adjust to dark completely after about 40 minutes. You're just going to point and pull the trigger.

Siggy, did you buy a Sig brand pusher or a universal one for different brands? If you own several pistols I agree that a sight pusher would be a wise purchase. At 20 to 50 bucks a pop to get a smith to do it would get expensive if you have several pistols. With owning a single pistol to start out with that's quite a bit of a start up cost, that's all I was saying.

This is the one I bought : www.sightpusher.com/I also paid the extra 8 dollars for the Springfield XD kit which works with the SIGPro. I used a thick cotton rag to keep from scratching the slide. It worked fine. You just have to take your time and make sure everything is lined up before pushing.

That's cool. I didn't know of those. That's a better price that the $100 plus sig pusher.

I mentioned this at SigTalk, but my 2022 came with the over/under 2-dot white day sights, which I didn't much care for. I ended up buying tritium-fiber optic (TFO) sights from Optics Planet for $89. One front, two rear sights, and had them installed by a 'smith. all 3 glow bright green in daylight, dusk, or pitch-black night. Highly recommended.

Is there a gap between your slide and the sight?

Yes that has been covered before on sigtalk and the gap is normal on sigs.
