All, Below is the THIRD story in as many weeks that I've seen Federal HST in the news: www.infowars.com/social-security-administration-to-purchase-174-thousand-rounds-of-hollow-point-bullets/This one happens to be about the SSA acquiring this ammunition, but the others are Homeland Security and, of all agencies, NOAA!!! The purpose of this thread is not to dissect WHY these folks are buying Federal HST 40S&W ammunition (though I'm scratching my head), but it is to simply to share the fact that HST certainly is getting a lot of press lately. And that might I "imply" that since November is giving us a huge amount uncertainty, and our government is buying a LOT of these things (for WHATEVER reason), we may want to stock up a bit for ourselves. I am. Just my two cents. Here is a link to the cheapest HST I've seen, supplied to us by our very own MVRK: www.prestostore.com/cgi-bin/store.pl?ref=hotpig27&ct=65201&pd=289654

HSTs have gone through extensive FBI test for penetration and effectiveness. Their test results have proven to be the BEST hollow points available to this date. Currently I am sitting on more than I would need for pistol provided self defense. My 2022 would be able to get me to my AR15. So what is the opinion on what is a good stockpile of HSTs? For me is 200 rounds. 100 rounds of 147gr +p and 50 rnds of 124gr +p then the other 50 is standard 124gr. After that is 50 rnds of 147gr WWB hp, 200 rounds of 115gr Remington UMC hp and 200 rounds of 115gr WWB FMJ for target practice. 5.56 and. 223 is around 800 or so. I feel that I have plenty to get me by unless it becomes all out war.

To me, 2000 rounds is more like enough. But I reload, so I have components in containers that, if all loaded up, would come to 2000 or so per caliber.
Right now, i run the 40, 9mm, 357 Mag, 38 Spec, 5.56mm and 6.8mm.

I assume the best place to buy is online? Cabela's didn't have this in their store unfortunately.

That is probably what I will do then. I don't have any HP ammo yet, but so far I haven't ever had a weapon to where I could buy some.
