Where are the stacks of $100's at? Lol. That looks like it's tucked away in a closet and the only thing a crook is going to get away with is some beef stew and some chef boyardee. Good job on the shelving, Geo.

That looks well secured! A safe will be my next purchase; I am also looking at just a small floor safe.

Thanks, guys. I can access this in about 5 seconds once I'm at the safe.....very quick code response. BTW, I got this safe through Wayfair - they offered free shipping.
No $$ dollar bills, Kenny......the beef stew, etc. is part of my growing stash of food supply...just...in...case...we need to hold up. It can't hurt to be prepared!

The only problem I see is the beef stew... I'm a Dinty Moore fan myself. hahaha

Oh, I've got Dinty Moore also, and like it. Just stocking up different brands so it doesn't get boring! The wife also has lots of canned pickels, beets, beans, tomatoes on the shelves. BTW - why do they call it "canned" when they are always in jars?

I use to go on overnight camping trips after high school and take our boat and the truck, bring a big igloo full of beer, whiskey and coca cola. All I brought for food was a few cans of dingy moore and a couple plastic spoons. Open the cans with my swiss army and stir it with the blade. Cook them ever the fire and eat them right outta the can. Takes me back...about...4 years. hahaha

MVRK -
Nice looking safe. Please be sure you get one large enough for your present and FUTURE needs. Originally I was going to get a 1.2 ft3 model, but then elected to get the 2.2 ft2 one so I would have room for future pistols and lots of ammo, plus other valuables. I am really glad I got the larger one. If you plan on bolting it to the floor, be sure the one you get has the pre-drilled holes to do that. I wanted that, but mine was also waterproof, so they couldn't put any holes in the base. Hence my use of straps to hold it secure.
Also, the 1.2 ft3 model you show does not offer fire protection. You might want to consider the fire protection: typical protection is for 1700 deg F for one hour.

I purchased a floor safe back in February from a place called So Cal Safe in Montebello California, it measures 59x28x23 it currently holds 3 rifles and 4 handguns my Digital SLR and the 17" laptop I'm typing this on when not in use along with a few thousand rounds of various calibers of ammo, .357, .40 S&W .41 Mag, .44 Mag, some .30.06, I tried to put my reloading components in there too but it's just too much stuff to try to stuff in there. I got a deal on the safe as it had just came back from a gun show display so I got it for a song, I am thouroughly satisfied with it, I also have a small Brinks floor safe about 1.3 cu. ft. capacity, I keep mostly money and important papers and such in it. In my opinion a safe is one of the best investments you can make. I mean you can't go wrong with something that will protect your goods while your not around.

The project I am working on has a requirement for a safe to store exotic metals used in the alloying process for aerospace material. I contactd Fort Knox safe and talked with the owner. They have probaby the best safes and bank type doors (room built to their specifications too) made in the US. They will also build anything you want. They are not cheap, but since I am buying a custom safe, I can get the distributor's price and that is a nice savings!
Fort Knox is tops!
