Has anyone here ever noticed how thick the coating is on the takedown lever on your 2022. Mine appears to be kinda thin. Almost like a dull parkerized finish instead of blued steel. I know that it is MIM but I think that it could be a little thicker. The wife and I spent 2 days and one night in Galveston, Tx in June. I was carrying my 2022 everywhere and with the salt air and sweating (it was hot) and even though it was clean and holstered the whole time, after we got back home I did a weapon check and noticed one tiny rust spot on the takedown lever where your thumb would release the slide. I got it to come off easily with some CLP and a little rubbing. I just thought that the finish would be a little thicker. I am considering buffing the old finish off and doing a DIY Birchwood Casey bluing job on it so that it may have more protection. OR I still have some of the black rust reformer primer I used on my .22 rifle and just may coat over it with that then put a coat of clear for good measure. Take a look at yours and see if you have a good thick coating on yours because if mine maybe got away from the factory with a substandard finish I just may contact Sig for a replacement.
