Very nice. I like the effect of the decocker and slide release being black against the frame color. I have an all black SP2022 and am thinking of taking the nitron off the barrel, decocker, and slide release down to the metal and polishing them. Not sure though if the decocker can be done without disassembly, and how difficult that might be?

Not sure though if the decocker can be done without disassembly, and how difficult that might be? I've seen a you tube video where a guy strips down the 2022 and I believe that after you remove the grip the hammer assembly comes out with the removal of 2 pins. I don't have the link to the vid right now but I believe it was sent to me in a thread I made at Sig Talk about painting a frame of a 2022. I would have to search for it. Ahh Found it Geo, You sent it to me. sigtalk.com/sig-sauer-pistols/2861-detail-strip-sp2022.html

Yeah, to duracoat this time, I took everything out of the polymer, including the housing that holds the decocking lever and hammer. I don't think it would be all that easy to take it off that housing, but I could see you taping off and buffing the lever to a high sheen quite easily!

That looks great!!! Really tempting me to consider doing mine. Would go nice with all my other FDE stuff.....= ) Someday, I will have mine in my hand, but for the time being, still waiting for it to ship. Lucky for me, my FFL is a buddy, and he will most likely meet me at the range so I can try mine out while it is in jail. I haven't asked him yet, but I'm sure as long as that doesn't break any rules we are good to go.

Did you use the bake on duracoat or the air dry? Could you please post a "how to" on what it took to remove the firing control group and hammer assembly in a step by step fashion or link a video that you used if that is the way you learned. I want to do mine in a Stainless look to match my wifes Bersa Thunder 9 Pro Ultra Compact. She has the reverse two tone that I think looks way cool and I want my 2022 to match.

To disassemble the 2022, here is the video I used: www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQltXkVYO8kFor duracoating, I used the kind that came in a shakable container and used an airbrush to apply it. After FULL dissasembly of the weapon's lower, I applied the duracoat in even strokes until I ran out. So, I put it on thick, but only in thin layers. My advise to anyone wanting to give their side-arm some "usable character", is just do it! Disassembly and duracoating is truly simpler than you think it is. We are just scared of what we don't understand. I have only ever taken apart a Glock before, down to it's pins and springs, and I was able to disassemble the 2022. I just took it slow. By "usable character" I mean giving it a cosmetic look that has a tactical use. For me, the tactic of matching my "theater of operation" here in North Texas requires the use of a light brown color. Other colors can be used, but I'm drawn to this one. Everything here is almost always brown, summer and winter. Spring and fall are exceptions, but they aren't as long as the other seasons.

Alright Chad, you've inspired me. At first I wasn't sure if I would go through with it, but I've got my heart set on it now. I think I may do all my letter fill in FDE to match as well. It'll go good with my TactiCool AK project. I've got a bunch of other goodies for it that aren't installed in this pic. Attachments:

It is futile to resist. Come to the FDE side of the force and we shall rule the universe!

Status update:
The Duracoat finish is holding up great so far! Much better than I thought it would have.

Not much holstering since it is not my primary carry. When the weather cools, it will see action more often. Right now, it's just riding around in the ammo carrier loose to the range every so often.
